Eurotrip

12-11-2010

Hi there

Well here I am with my rather ”infrequent” blog to bring you up to date with all that is going on in the world of shoes!!!!

My trip to London and Milan was just simply amazing. London was on high alert, as the same weekend I visited, so did the Pope!!! Can you believe it – the Pope, fashion week and me – too much!

London Fashion Week was as always outrageous and fun. So many amazing people and gorgeous things. I have found a new handbag label designed and made in the UK – casual with wonderful leathers. Also I saw the lovely Jane Carr scarves and Ahliya cashmere, which I will bring in again next winter.

London is amazing. They had just opened the new flagship store for Louis Vuitton in Bond Street. Fabulous shop over two stories, but better than the inside were the windows they had created to show off their highlight “ostrich skin” bags and shoes. (I have added a few pictures of these to the right). They were so amazing – these fabulous fake ostriches carrying models and bags – just outrageous!!

I also visited the new Selfridges shoe department, apparently holding something like 5000 different pairs of shoe. Talk about shoe heaven. All the major houses have their own stand-alone boutiques. So many shoes, too few feet!

On to Milan and the shoe fair. Main trends for next summer are kitten heels, bows, man shoes and lace ups as well as soft colours. Not too many heels. I think we have all learned our lesson. Prada of course started the trend with the kitten heels and bows channelling the 50’s, and there were some really gorgeous shoes. I have managed to order some shoes from the spring summer 2011 selections to be delivered to Escalatoo Shoes in March. So if you are travelling overseas you will be wearing the same collection at the same time instead of 6 months later!!!

The other thing I loved in Milan was people watching. My favourite sights are still the bike riders. Imagine a beautifully groomed woman with her Chanel handbag in the basket and her Laboutins on her feet riding through the fashion district. Men too, dressed in a tailored suit with a man bag riding through the café strip to the office. Forget Lycra and helmets!!!!!!

Anyway, that’s about it for now. All new summer stock is now in store and we are getting ready for Jacaranda Festival, which is on in the village on the 27th November. This is always a fun day with lots of bargains to be had and I also donate $5 from every sale to Breast Cancer WA. So come and help a good cause and have some fun at the same time.

Till next time,
Kisses

Summer Collection is Arriving

25-08-2010

Well hello again at least this time it is only 4 months since my last blog so I am getting better.

Well winter is almost over, if it even started, and I have been to Sydney to look at next winters collection already. Lots of over the knee boots in lovely soft nappa leathers and FUR, FUR, FUR!!! I know so politically incorrect but everyone was doing it. Lots of ankle boots too which suits our climate.

All of our new summer collection is arriving thick and fast into store. Lots of “Gelato Colours” and ballet flats. The other highlight of this season will be a very European combination of “tan and ink” This is highlighted in the “Sempre Di” collection.

I am off to Milan and London next month to look at the new Summer collections which will be available to us next September but I am also hoping to bring some of that Spring Summer collection early for our winter so that if you are traveling to Europe you will be able to have the latest styles.

Well that’s about it for now. Do pop in and have a look at the new collections and if you are lucky pick up a bargain in our sale section while you are here.

Kisses
